Common Questions

Download FAQ

Quick answers about getting PPSSPP on your device. For the full list, visit our FAQ page.

Is PPSSPP Gold better than the free version?

No. PPSSPP Gold is identical to the free version in features, performance, and updates. Gold is a donation tier on Google Play that supports the lead developer — it is not a premium upgrade.

Where should I download PPSSPP from?

Only from ppsspp.org, Google Play (free or Gold), or F-Droid. Avoid third-party APK sites and repacked installers that may bundle unwanted software.

Are games included with the download?

No. PPSSPP is an emulator only — you must provide your own legally obtained game files (ISO, CSO, or PBP). See our FAQ for legal guidance on game ownership.
